7-Eleven, in Former Town Hall Deli Space, to Open Wednesday

Convenience store was source of some controversy when it replaced beloved deli of Sloppy Joe fame.

A new 7-Eleven that replaced the former Town Hall Deli at 60 Valley Street is set to open Wednesday, according to Lisa Hackett of the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA).

The announcement last August that the beloved Town Hall Deli, owned by Tony Wonski, was making way for the convenience store was met with some dismay from the community.

Town Hall Deli, famed for its Sloppy Joe sandwiches, reopened in its new location at 74 1st Street at the end of June.
